Introductions - March 26th, 2007

Let’s go around the room and introduce ourselves. I’ll start.

My name is Erin Robinson, a.k.a. The Ivy. I’m a 20-year-old cartoonist and adventure game developer. This website is a cross between a museum and a design course, except that you can take things from the museum and you’re not getting graded on the course. So it’s pretty much freeloader’s paradise in website form. Welcome!

Right now “Spooks” is the only game available on the games page, but hopefully we’ll have a new addition in a few weeks and I can finally get around to working on Skyward. So many secrets! There’s a tiny clue as to what my next game will be somewhere on this site…but that’s all I’ll say for now.

You may have noticed the “tutorials” page up there next to games and comics. I don’t pretend to be an expert, but I’ve learned a few things about game design in my work on Spooks, Skyward (in progress), and that other oh-so-secret project. I’ve also been doing weekly comics for a comedy paper for three years.

That’s about everything for now. Stay tuned, updates will be happening at least once a week. Mad props to Tim the Web Guy for setting the whole thing up for me.

Cheers!

Congratulations on the new site, Erin!

Excellent work on the lay-out; I really like how the Ivy-with-wings changes with every click of my mouse.

    Oh, and hooray for Tim!

Finally I made it, I played my way through Spooks this afternoon and it’s more than vaguely threatening, great job! Little late though … but in my defense I took the time to write a little review at http://fiddler.over-blog.de (it’s in German, but more or less it reads as follows: bla bla bla very nice game!)

PS While travelling through your whole blog looking for your very first entry I came across so many interesting things, keep on!
